Farewell New York

This is the largest amount of snow recorded in decades in New York . I am afraid my flight will be delayed. The snow is magical. I walk with my face forward to receive the light snow and then find myself ankle deep in slush- I leave New York wet :) The last week has been filled with divas who disappoint, wise women who leave my heart stimulated and friends who are hard to leave behind.

What have i learned from this month away? That I am a true African. That I love my children and other beloved people who fill my life in South Africa. I am truely dedicated to the work that i so passionately and gratefully do and feel even more committed to the work that needs doing in my country. And of course, come back home with new ideas, new innovations that I look forward to bringing to you.

This is part of what i learned in New York- sex toys are needed and wanted by people and that this new range I have put together is about sexual health and pleasure. I am merely following clinical treatment protocols - at the ISSWSH meeting there was a presentation on "lubricants, moisturizers and other enhancers" I need no other endorsement than from this internationally recognise organisation : if they are doing this presentation at a scientific sexual science medicine meeting plus have an evening of educational sex DVD's , then its good enough for me to be importing this product and making it available for you- your sexual health and pleasure:) watch out for DVD's soon to be in store:)

I met divas such as Betty Dodson and Candida Royalle who deserve to be divas as they are humble in their work. I met Eve Ensler, playwright of the epic "Vagina Monologues" who is a diva and a massive disappointment- she epitomises what happens when you throw money at ideology - it ends up in "The city of Joy" for DRC women who have been abused/tortured and genitally mutilated. great idea, Eve, but I wonder what those millions of raped and tortured women would choose to do with your $7 million? Not so sure they would build a "city of joy". ANyway I bought her new book - she is now chasing "girl" money - I shall tell more about her and her project. Besides opera, the symphonies and the shopping , book stores and art movies, people were what made New York a "city of joy" for me. I met a legend, an icon: Dr. Dagmar O'Connor. She is a psychoanalyst and sex therapist, a wise , wise beautiful woman, a woman who gets invited to Davos. She gave me her time , to sit in her apartment and learn from her. She generously gave me her book and DVD 's so will be sharing with you.

I look forward to feeling the African sun on my face , the warm embraces of all those I left behind and the new work I will be innovating . Till then , cover up x
