I love being taken by surprise, to be shifted out of a comfort zone, of being reminded not to be judgmental. Tonight on the Dr. Eve Show I asked listeners to talk about what it is to be a mother. And my surprise was when man after man called in with fascinating and diverse opionions about the mothers of their children. Of course stereotypically I expected strong voices of women but the tender, hurt, admiring, very acknowledging voices of men flooded the phone lines.

My Mothers Day Event happens on Friday 6th May - I hope you have booked some places for yourself and other moms as we are limiting it to 50 women only. Listening to the stories of callers it was gratifying to know that I have put together a gig that will meet the needs of mothers - and fathers. The need is for men to acknowledge their women as mothers. In return men want to be honoured for being fathers. For staying despite scary statistics that indicate most men disappear after depositing their seed, for embracing fatherhood for their own sake, sake of their women and mostly for the sake of the kids.
