Are you a "kept woman"? Or rather, are you a woman who has lost her freedom in her relationship?
I know these women from their breasts: the larger the breasts, that is, the more their breasts have been artificially augmented, the more I know they are kept women. Please note I am not opposed to breast augmentation. I am opposed to women being forced to enhance their breasts as a means of keeping a roof over their heads. I beleive that due to the socio economic policies , which are sexist and a history of patriarchy, women overall do not earn as much as men, leaving many women kept.
There are, however, different ways of being kept. One can be kept with dignity. This would be a woman with her own bank account, a course in financial literacy under her belt and no accountability for her own well managed expenses. Then there is the young woman who transacts her body for credit card, cash and car. Then there is the woman, similar to a high class hooker (and I have more respect for hookers as they do an honest transaction , calling it what it is) . These are women who have no voice in their "Im-so-lucky-to-have-him" relationships. They know very litle about their men and have no authority to ask as they may be kicked out their homes -which -will -never be -their -homes.
I worry about these women. They are at high risk of abuse. And of HIV transmission. How can you dare negotiate a condom when you risk him angering, smacking you or kicking you out for daring to have a voice.
If you recognise yourself as a kept woman I suggest you label yourself as an abused woman and get some counselling.
