When a woman first takes courage to consider buying a sex toy for herself her first concern is about what her man will say about this. Will he feel insulted? Replaced? Inferior? Often the first toy she will buy is a partner toy, such as "8ight" (I love this one
) or a simple vibrating cock ring as in the new Durex range. A toy they can use together.
After a while she will return for her own Bullet Buddy or RO80m vibe, or Layaspot. And then she wants him there, to have a discussion, to share intimately their likes and dislikes. Even if you do not buy a sex toy, I so want you to enter this space, an intimate space, which allows and gives permission for couples to talk about themselves-without interruption of television and children.
So pop in on Thursday night, check out the sex toys and then go for a date night alone. I love providing opportunities in which people, especially couples, can discuss and debate sexuality and their intimate relationship.
As I come to the end of another stunning weekend I reflect with gratitude to have the abundance that I do have in my life: love, lots of it, which I give and receive; a city that offers mountains, wine farms, the sea and opera (of course opera for me!) I am steeped in reading the new research on "Why Women have Sex" by Cindy Meston and David Buss. Buy the book and read it for yourself. And by chance I reviewed a new research paper this evening on the motivations for women to have sex. This is the new interest in the academic world- its real complex, from love to satisfaction, to chasing orgasms and the chemical hit from genitals being stimulated , women want sex for many reasons. Somehow it does always come down to love and satisfaction (not necessarily orgasms) for women. Men want satisfaction and love too - but this not their primary motivatign reasons for sex.
I will be doing a radio show on this topic with Redi end of the month - Friday 27th - so be sure to listen- unless I feel compelled to talk more about violence against women. I will be doing my next two shows on Heart fm on violence against women and children. Check out my schedule here on the site for details.
I wish you a wonderful week , cover up, commit to no violence in your home, commit to teaching your children one lesson a day about violence - most powerfully behave in a truley non violent manner to everyone.
