SuperBowl

I gate crashed an invite to an American cultural experience- the Superbowl. Thank you Jordan. I grab opportunities for experiences so am grateful for this one- the game was unknown to me, ageing band The Who was half time entertainment but the people were interesting. As an observer of human behaviour I like to be in new places with new people.

South Africa is as far and unknown to most Americans I meet as, well, as Africa. I can no longer imagine living in a place in which HIV/AIDS/STI's is not on the top of everyone's mind. When I talk about it people look at me with sympathy. It really is not an American problem. I still look over my shoulder walking the streets at night and feel kind of stupid asking people to mind my "purse" when I go to the restroom. They look at me strangely wondering why I am so suspicious of them.

I most love seeing people's  reactions to the inevitable question of "what do you do?" I am an anomaly to them - I can see them taking a step back from me when they hear the word "sex" in my response, no matter how I pad my reply. I can see their impression of me changing from when I first walk into a room. I look just like any other ageing woman in Manhattan ( I have a lot less cosmetic surgeryKiss) and then they learn (if I decide to be cheeky or if Im bored) that I sell sex toys on my precious educational web site. Sex toys is like swearing - I cannot believe how conservative the very nice Democrats I mix with really are. I was told a story of how a woman teaching  sexuality education in the schools in the suburbs had to stop due to the many threatening phone calls she received from the parents. I invite Americans to check out the incredibly high incidence of STI's among teenagers and college age students.

I fantasize about breaking out on the air waves in New York. I would be seen as a competitor for Howard Stern- highly controversial quite gross talk show host here. I long to be able to crack open the closed minds of this city, or to get sex out the closet - of course people are having sex yet it all feels so , so silent and non sexual to me. I speak with single women who are deeply involved in internet dating and they long for , really ache for relationships/marriage. I do not hear them saying they are dying to just have sex.. I want to learn more about this city and its sexuality. I admit  I take my knowledge from a very select group of people - people who tell me , on asking, that they really did not feel the credit crunch, people who live in just gorgeous apartments, people who are lucky enough to continue their life style untouched unlike Everyman.

Back to sex toys-- as you opened this page you certainly can see how beautiful the new look site looks. Mike, my web master extraordinaire, has a few tricks up his sleeve to get the site a little more alive - come back and visit all the time as you will be surprised to see what we have in store for you.

Are you visiting Moreeda in my rooms? She is having such fun teaching people about sex toys , doing demos and of course giving people opportunity to buy - she will personlaize your sex toy needsLaughing I will be visiting some sex stores this week and source new toys for you. I can tell you I am real proud of the selection I have - they are the cream of what all good sites offer.

e mail me , tell me what you think of the new look site. Hopefully Heart will get me connected to you this week so join me on air on Wednesday night at 8pm. Also I will be doing my Radio 702/Cape Talk show on Friday 12th. Be sure to join me - I will need the company as it will be 4am my time!

I look forward to a week of "sex in the city" - covered up and safe of course!
