Tomorrow I begin a marathon learning session which ends on Sunday afternoon. Based in the UK, Limmud is a global leader in innovative, inclusive Jewish education. Founded over 25 years ago, it holds annual conferences all over the world, and provides high quality, innovative Jewish educational events for thousands of Jews from all walks of life, all backgrounds, all lifestyles, and all ages.
Great thinkers will be presenting such as Judge Denis Davis, Jonathan Shapiro (Zapiro) Nathan Geffen (treasurer of TAC) and many other illustrious and non illustrious people. I enjoy presenting at Limmud as it is an environment rich in discourse, with all opinions being respected , however controversial they may be. I am discussing whether the modern model of Jewish sexuality and relationships is compatible with modern day relationships and sexuality and seeking beneficial commonalities between these two models- challenging stuff indeed.
I feel it is Thursday night as my mind and body seek respite from some of the every day pain and sorrow I so welcomingly and easily absorb. every day in my therapy room. Maybe there is extra heaviness tonight because I was informed of the death of a client of mine who was killed in an accident - tragic. There is a unique intimacy that develops between a client and a therapist so this is a unique loss for me. I was working with a woman who has taken on her mother's script of storing new things- she will not use her "Nice" things every day, only on special occasions. So she has cupboards that hold these treasures whilst her real life is spent living in second best clothes, bedding and underwear. When I work with death, loss and pain I don't miss an opportunity to make my new things familiar pleasures. So you will see me at international airports painting my nails with newly purchased varnish, applying new lipstick and spraying on new perfume- immediately! I could crash into the sea without having had this pleasure ;)
Weekend means sex toys - go shopping - right now ;) for some toys. the Lady Godiva is flying out the store so get yours now - something going on about anal sex curiosity right now - on my radio show last night, most callers touched on the subject of anal sex. Have you diarized 10th August, to join us for our amazing Woman's Day event at Cape Milner Hotel??? It is the talk of the town. Seriously pushing people's buttons - A woman representing some gathering group of anonymous woman , who are clearly Dr. Eve groupies in a very negative way, called Rape Crisis to implore them to extricate themselves from the event as there is pole dancing and this is incompatible with Rape Crisis message. She has threatened to go to the press with this- deeply offended by me- she knows a LOT about me, listens to me all the time. I know you are reading this blog so I invite you to approach me directly for discourse. I would welcome opportunity to meet with you and exchange ideas. Is it just my imagination or are these hot headed people lacking in courage which is why they subversively approach people, never going to the direct source.
