I walk through snow flakes, snow storms, try and avoid slipping on the icy streets and cannot take my eyes off the winter Olympics on television happening in Vancouver. This means I am wet a lot. I am living in a wonderland that includes visits to Toys in Babeland, premier toy store in New York , and hanging out with amazing people. Notably Candida Royalle and Betty Dodson.

I feel like a regular New Yorker. Just got in from dinner at a "local", very up market restaurant  and there was Gywneth Paltrow eating with her husband and hanging out with friends - no papparazi, no fuss. New Yorkers clearly respect their celebrities. Have to say though out on the pavement we were all falling over ourselves with "wow did you see her.."

My last week has been filled with remarkable events. As I sit down to write my blog I have found myself distracted by work that needs doing back home or somewhere that I just HAVE to go to immediately - I feel my days passing quickly and do not want to miss out on one snowflake, one movie, one friend or one minute of an extraordinary event.  I loved hanging out at Babes in Toyland (www.babeland.com) and of course I have immediately ordered toys that I admired there.

In all this bliss the event that moved my heart the most was Valentine's night party. I was invited by my dearest friend Candida Royalle (www.candidaroyalle.com) to a party of close friends being held at the home of diva Betty Dodson (www.dodsonross.com). She will be with me on radio when I return so you can adore her too. Of course Candida will do another show with me- after all she isthe queen of female porn, being the first woman to create porn for woman only.

Earlier I ran (and slipped) into Barnes and Noble and bought her book of same title. Remarkable woman doing brave work. Another outstanding time was being part of my clinical world - I was invited into a therapy supervision group. A regular meeting of these remarkable smart clinicians allowed me to listen, learn, contribute to their work. It is such a joy meeting up with friends and exchanging books - I will be reviewing  the newly published book on Orgasms written by two of my special friends plus two other authors- Beverly Whipple of G zone fame and Sara Nasserzadeh.

In between all this "work" I have indulged myself in my passion of attending symphonies and opera. I walked across the road the other evening , to the Metropolitan Museum, into the small intimate theatre and sat in the front row and made a dream come true: I saw/heard Izhak Perlman perform. I also attended performances of the New York Philharmonic and a performance of Orf at Carnegie Hall- 6 choirs on stage plus a full orchestra... aah, I wept with joy..

Tomorrow I leave for Florida to attend ISSWSH meeting. I enter a whole new mind set , will be absorbing important new research findings to bring home to you. I anticipate the usual hours and hours spent in conference, and of course time with friends as valuable  as the work. I look forward to sharing all with you.

I am half filled with all the stimulation I have so far absorbed and exposed myself to in this city. I look forward to filling up more- not quite ready to come home despite longing for my beloveds and -- well, all of you. Keep it covered...
