So here's what women are talking about. Or rather what researchers and clinicians working in  women's sexual medicine are talking about. I just got back from the annual  ISSWSH (International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health) meeting , held last week in Arizona. I never got to see Scottsdale, Arizona as meetings were from 7am through 10pm every day. I don't think I missed much in this desert town but I certainly learned a lot - and can't wait to share with you.

Orgasms and the brain , sex and the brain , proof that this is where it all happens. Now days with modern technology such as fMRI scans, clearly teach us the facts - you should see how gorgeous it looks once the brain lights up when you are having n orgasm.

The ongoing discussion on women and their desire or lack thereof got lots of excellent time - and I shall share some of these findings with you. Will we ever really understand women?? So let's make it even more controversial and bring in the pharmaceutical industry.  Will there ever be a drug to give women desire/arousal /orgasms? Watch this space as a company is getting great results with their testosterone gel for post menopausal women. However research keeps showing the importance of the relationship the woman is in.No surprise to you right?!

Talking about having sex have you seen the hot educational DVD's just arrived int he store?? I highly recommend you buy a few- first class quality , educational and really hot.

In between presentations I was checking out CNN, fascinated with Egypt and the power of Facebook. Perhaps it was this viewing of revolution that got me to be as outspoken as I was, always am, about labiagenitoplasty. There is very little evidence on impact of this on women and their sexuality. So I am openly opposed to this procedure-unless there are medical reasons for this. The newest treatment of vaginal pain, a very severe disorder in too many women, is the use of botox. I shall be presenting a paper on this at AMCSA so will share with you in one or other forum.

I am always delighted to see that the clinical use of sex toys gets more inclusion in scientific papers. I await a new set of dilators but have an excellent set in the store right now. I will be talking more about Vaginal Atrophy , VA, a condition that occurs in women who go through menopause without hormones and women who are being treated for cancer, specifically breast cancer.

A new movie/documentary on menopause is now available online: "hot flash havoc" - I recommend this for women who are needing to learn about menopause. Which means you. I am committed to brining more education, more factual information to you - women are suffering unnecessarily. I was sitting in the shuttle going to the airport and the woman next to me began chatting, asked me why I was in Arizona. In a heartbeat she was sharing about her atrophied vagina and no libido. I am going to ensure you get information - so come and get it from me:)

I hope you had a Valentine's Day that was happy for you- I was impressed how unimpressive VD was in New York. Lot's of discussion on "single women" ideas for VD. Nice.

Soon, very soon, I will be blogging from my new IPAD - I am part of the Apple culture, always have been . After entering the glass cube on 5th Avenue that is Apple I feared being stampeded by the crowd. People of all ages , cultures, sizes, fill this space 24/7 , just wanting to be part of the Apple culture. It is  so seductive...

Tomorrow is another day in the Big Apple for me - not sure what can beat watching Placido Domingo and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra on VD, but I am sure I shall find something :)
