I explore the “senior”, “anti ageing”, “later life” sex sites.
I feel like a child finally, oh finally, being given permission to be sexual. At the “senior” age of 50 something. These sites are filled with images of white, smiling grey haired couples, men and women only -naturally, who look happy. Happy??! They are indeed told to have sex, safe non goal directed sex – which translates into :” don’t even try penetration cos it ain’t going to work for you any more”. So settle in for some hugging , companionship and a gentle cycle through Italy after your cooking course. This is good- enough for your senior years.
Here is my take on ageing people’s sexuality:
- “Give him an erection” is her plea(www.confidentmen.com)
- “I want an erection but feel to embarrassed to ask my doctor about this change in my erections”(www.36hours-of-freedom.com)
- “My patient has the right to have an erection, there are safe and effective drugs available- but I’m not sure how to raise .. the topic”
- Finding a sexual partner is a woman’s major obstacle to having sexual activity (www.kingdomofhearts.co.za)
- Depression, cardio vascular diseases, cancer and medications to treat these chronic illnesses significantly change sexuality – at any age. (www.dreve.co.za/shop/books/ageing-and-sexuality)
- Having no sexual activity can make an ageing person very unhappy – finally you get to do “it” as you’re old and no one cares if you do or you don’t . So not having opportunities to do “it” deadens a vital piece of your being<
- Sex toys are terribly fascinating – bring them on!
- Introduce me to a dating service (www.kingdomofhearts.co.za)
- Help me rejuvenate my genitals
- I want to go on holiday to Amsterdam’s Red Light district, go back to our hotel room and shag with images of the decadence of sex flashing in our minds
