I'm a 48year old woman and i would like to know more about low libido, is there something in the market I can purchase to improve my life?
It's so interesting how medicalised we are as a society- first place we run to for a solution is the medicine chest. And for peri menopausal women with low libido this cupboard is bare - there is a new drug that will be on the market in a few years time. However one of the benefits of aging is that we have hormone replacement that can make a difference to a peri or post menopausal woman's desire. At 48 you may well be entering peri menopause. Check out "symptoms of menopause" in Tips & Techniques section on site. To be eligible for hormone replacement you need to self assess first if you do tick off many of the symptoms. If yes, your gynecologist will do sex hormone tests, life style tests, general medical tests and a history taking with you in order to assess if you are a good candidate for hormones. Most importantly you need to know that hormones alone are not enough to make you horny. First and foremost your intimate relationship must be satisfying for you as must the sex you are having. Include a good body image here as well as checking if you are depressed or on an anti depressant. This sounds overwhelming - Im glad - as I want you to do this properly: there is no magic cure in a bottle!
