I am greedy for this knowledge. I want to fully understand risk to benefit ratios, treatment protocols, and an area that I am specifically interested in, which is cancer , hormones and menopause It is deeply controversial. How safe is it to administer hormones to women who have survived cancer? After all estrogen is removed from these women so how dare we give it back to them to manage menopausal debilitating symptoms..
I attended 2 lectures on this topic by my colleague Alessandra Graziotten, an Italian O&G, psychotherapist and sex therapist and oncologist - yes , she is brilliant and world reknowned. Out of 5 full days of presentations I counted about 3 presentations which covered some aspect of sexuality, 2 of which were hers. Do not wonder why your O&G has limited knowledge of sexuality, sexual medicine - he receives almost no training in this area of medicine - skande FIGO! My only criticism of a world class conference.
