One of the dangers of ageing alone is isolation. Especially for men. Women are usually the socializers in a relationship so if she dies, divorces, or disappears with an- other, the man may feel lonely and cut off. Also women are usually (these statements are based on research) the connection between adult children and grandchildren so men may loose these relationships unless they avidly work on maintaining contact.
Hence my idea of "classifieds"> Make the connection, becoming embedded in your community and family and meet new people.
