I'm 28 and been with my boyfriend for 7 years and have a 3 year old son together. I do have thyriod problems, I'm insulin resistant and have low blood pressure and on the 2mth birth control injection. For the past 4 year my sex drive has been getting worse and worse. I force myself to have sex now once every 2 - 4 weeks. I would say I enjoy it about 80% of the time. This is really starting to affect my relationship. I am on medication for the thyriod and insulin problem as well as natural suppliments to try control my blood sugar. Please could you advise if there is anything I could take to boost my sex drive, preferably natural products? And mentally how to get you self in the mood after a long day at work and then looking after a 3 year old and I'm trying to study and the normal household things that have to be done? DR. EVE ANSWERS:
I feel exhausted just listening to your daily schedule - I totally get that you have no desire. Your chronic diseases are a symptom of your poor life style. And to have so many chronic diseases at such a young age is worrying. I do not believe in natural remedies as they are not clinically tested thus no safety or efficacy guaranteed. so overall I believe you need an overhaul. I would start at looking at what you need to do to get the extra help needed to get your health under control. In other words are you exercising, eating correctly, having enough sleep, enough time alone to think, meditate, do what you love.. I suggest you get your thyroid, sugar and blood pressure levels normalized but through proper medication not natural remedies. Consult a specialist about this. Your sexuality will return if you feel healthy, vital and if you are well. Chronic diseases interfere with sexual functioning.
