I am a 25 year old male. I have an erection disyfunction or impotence .It has been 3 years now living with this problem. I have tried to treat it and went to the public hospital but they just always tell me that I have a stress. So, I went to the mens clinic and they tried to treat it but it was too expensive for me because I am unemployed. I was given one injection per week, which really help. They said the blood flow to my penis is 0.2 instead of 10, which means there is no flow at all. I have lost the love of my life because of this and I do not blame her for leaving me. She deserves better than this. I feel like I am no man at all. I hate my life and myself. I do not smoke, drink and I live a health life. My question to you Dr. Eve is, are there any cheap medicine/drugs that I can use to make the blood flow to my penis or anything(exercises) that I can do or anything I can eat that can cure me, cause right now, I feel that death is the only solution

I was recently accused of being politically correct when I said on my radio show (www. heart104.9.co.za) that men can make wonderful love without a hard penis. I denied this accusation. However when I receive such mail ,as yours, I do know that hard penises are very important to men who wear a penis, more so than to the women they wish to penetrate.
At 25 years old you should be able to have good hard erections . Erectile dysfunction (ED) occurs in men who have life stlye diseases, are on medications that interfere with blood flow or men who have psychological distress . And for this latter group of men, and I am placing you there as there is no evidence you are giving me that you have biological/medical reasons for ED, Performance Anxiety easily develops. I hear it in your mail- the almost desperate sense of powerlessness , a strong belief that you cannot get erections as your penis will not respond to you. You have developed anxiety that will be sure to kill off any erection.
I wonder what began your anxiety - perhaps you, like many men, had an erection loss/faiure a few times that you wanted to penetrate someone. Or maybe you have been betrayed by your girlfriend or simply felt so bad about loosing your erection that you tried really hard to please your girlfriend - and all that mental pressure gave you ED.
Fact is you need to explore this side of your problem - the answer does not lie in an injection for you , definitely not in an over-the-counter product. These products are dangerous as they have no clinical trials that prove their safety and effectiveness.
As you say erectile injections work well for certain men who have ED.- after they have had a good professional assessment. I urge you to visit FAMSA as they will offer you free counselling. I urge you to talk to someone as this desperate feeling, to the point of you wanting death, can go away with the correct health care attention.
