A recent study from the Department of Psychology at the University of Essex, has led scientists to declare that even though the majority of women identify as straight, most women are either bisexual or gay, but never straight. This conclusion suggests that sexual arousal must always follow (or is always influenced by) sexual orientation, this morning we explore whether this is necessarily true.

An important component in the conversation around sexual violence is the issue of consent. What constitutes consent and how do societal values influence this? Can you rape or sexually assault a person unintentionally, because you assumed consent through their actions? Redi and Dr Eve discuss affirmative consent which is the idea/standard that requires the person who initiates sexual contactto receive a VERBAL YES (affirmative consent) from the other person before engaging in any sexual activity -- and that consent must be ongoing throughout the sexual encounter.
