Sexuality and Sexual Health is recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a human right for all people.
In 2014 the World Association of Sexual Health (WAS) produced the Declaration of Sexual Rights which was submitted to the UN in April 2014.
Sexual health is becoming increasingly acknowledged as an important dimension in the overall well being and health of all persons.
Disease and disability of any system in the body due to medical negligence or a motor vehicle accident will impact negatively on the sexual functionality and satisfaction of a person . And in turn on their quality of life and happiness quotient.
People have the right to be compensated for the loss of sexual function and health.
In 2004 I began my practice as a Sexual Health Expert in Medico Legal work. Steadily over the years I have grown my practice through educating both the medical and legal fraternity to the importance of a sexual health assessment, and quantums, as an integral part of a medico legal report.
My area of special interest is in medical negligence matters as well as personal injury as a result of motor vehicle accidents. I remain the only recognised Sexual Health Expert in South Africa and am expanding my expertise globally due to the universal lack of any such experts.
In 2016 I was invited onto the Cape Town Executive Committee of The South African Medico Legal Association (SAMLA) and in December 2016, I was elected on to the SAMLA Executive Board.
